Diving at Sipadan Water Village

The Sipadan Water Village Resort Dive Centre is fully equipped with everything needed for novice to experienced Divemasters.

How to get to Sipadan Water Village

Getting to Sipadan Water Village is pretty simple! Many airplane trips can get you to Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, or Singapore. From there, you can take Malaysia Air to Tawau.

Fly to Tawau Airport. Popular routes to Tawau are via Kota Kinabalu (BKI-TWU) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL-TWU). Plan to arrive by 2 pm or earlier. Otherwise, you will have to spend a night in Semporna or Tawau and only reach the resort the next day. The resort staff will meet you at the airport arrival hall.

From the airport, you will be shuttled to Semporna Jetty for your boat transfer. The journey will take 90 minutes. You will be transferred on the earliest scheduled boat transfer from Semporna Jetty to Sipadan Water Village on Mabul Island. The scheduled boat transfer times are 9:30 am, 12 noon, and 3:30 pm. Travel time is about 45 minutes.

How to Get to Sipadan Island

 

Sipadan is reachable only by boat at the end of a journey involving air, land, and sea. The nearest airport from the Sipadan Island is the Tawau Airport in Sabah, Malaysia, and the other airport is Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

From either of these two airports, you have to travel to Semporna Island. You can take buses, minivans, and personal cabs waiting at the airports, a drive from Tawau Airport to Semporna Island will take up to 90 minutes. And from Semporna Island, you have a changeover to ferry boats that will get you to Mabul Island.
